Step 1: Pinpoint the students strengths and weaknesses for NYC G&T subject matter.

Step 2: Prepare a customized Action Plan tailored to the student's specific needs.

We do NOT use a one-size-fits-all program, we only teach what the student needs to learn the most.

Step 3: We begin customized instruction using the latest technology

and proven teaching methods.  Tech includes:

-iPads

-computers

-paper and pencil.

Step 4: Provide a re-assessment and adjust the Action Plan as goals are met or exceeded.

This keeps the student's skills growing and improving at a swift and steady rate!

Our students are praised and rewarded for even their little accomplishments!

This positivity motivates students to work harder and reach higher goals.

We know our system works and we look forward to proving our winning system to you.

What You Need to Know about TACHS Test Prep

If you are a parent interested in taking your child to a Catholic high school, you should be prepared to have them take the Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools well known as TACHS. TACHS is most common in the Diocese of Queens and Brooklyn and the Archdiocese of New York. Now that you know what TACHS is, what are the basics?

The TACHS test consists of approximately 200 multiple choice questions that are divided into four different sections:

Mathematics (40 minutes)
The math section has two parts – concepts, problem-solving, data interpretation that takes 33 minutes and estimation questions that take seven minutes.

Reading (35 minutes)

Similar to the math section, this section has two parts as well which include reading comprehension and vocabulary.

Abilities (32 minutes)

This section is subdivided into two parts with the first one being similarities and exchanges and the second one being the abstract reasoning.

Language (30 minutes)

First part has capitalization, spelling, expression/usage and punctuation while the second part is mainly paragraphs.

The number one worry for most families and students is usually on how important it is to pass the TACHS test. Different schools look for different scores which vary from one school to the other. A school that is competitive will, of course, learn more about your scores. Besides, students who have good academic performance coupled with a high score in the TACHS test may be able to get a scholarship.

TACHS are usually done once a year in November on a date set by the school. As such, ensure you check with the relevant schools on the exact dates.

At Skies the Limit Tutoring Center it is our goal that our families know they made the best decision ever to put their children's academic success and self-esteem into our hands.

"Amazing staff! They gave my son an assessment in Math for 5th grade level and was able to find what he was having trouble with. They put together a plan to help him understand the work and really made it fun for my son to learn and he is doing so well now. I am so happy i brought my son to Skies the limit tutoring. Thank you."
